I have recently started using Dolphin and by following instructions I generally succeed in running games properly, but I can't get my xbox 360 controller to work which is one of the main reasons why I wanted to try Dolphin in the first place.
- I am using the latest version of Dolphin: r7594.
- My pc runs on windows 7 (64 bit).
- I am trying to use a wired xbox 360 controller.
- I have installed the latest drivers and updates from Microsoft.
- I am uncertain if I have the right plugin, since I don't know where to look for them.
When I try to refresh or pair-up a Wiimote with my xbox controller plugged in I get the message:
A supported bluetooth device was not found! (Only the microsoft bluetooth stack is supported.)
When I simply launch a game with my controller plugged in I get the in-game message that I should remove the unsupported device.
Help would be great,
Thanks.
your xbox controller is no wiimote... (why trying to connect it as one via bluetooth???? you got a wired controller... there is no bluetooth transmitter at all)
go on the wiimote1 tab
emulated wiimote
and press config...

I got that far, the problem is that it doesn't recognize my xbox controller at that point. I can apparantly use my keyboard and my gamepad for input, but I can't select my xbox controller it just says XInput/0/Gamepad and DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse.
xinput/0/gamepad should be your xbox controller...
just try ö_Ö
or what do you think a gamepad is?

When I launch a game with the xbox controller plugged in I get the message:
Please Remove Unsupported External Extension Controller.
That is the problem I mentioned, it doesn't recognize my controller as a Wiimote, like it should according to all the guides.
in the wiimote config
there is a dropdown list extensions...
just remove nunchuck or what there is placed to "none"
the game you are trying to use is a only wiimote game... (but at the moment you emulate a wiimote+extension(probaly nunchuck)

I no longer get the error message now, but when I start the game I can't get past the initial screen since the buttons are unresponsive. I tried changing the setup of the buttons myself so it should work, but the buttons don't do anything now.
Thanks for all the help so far already.
just try continue to setup the buttons
oh
the gamecube config bar is ONLY for GAMECUBE Games (they wont work with wii games)
the wiimote config bar is ONLY for WII Games
so map the buttons in the wiimote 1 config

I did. I even downloaded some profiles of other people to see if those would work. They did not. My xbox controller is not being recognized for input while it works perfectly fine for pc games or on the xbox. I tried loads of different settings now, but think the problem lies somewhere else.
I am trying to play DKCR by the way:
