Well your cpu will still be too slow to run a lot of games but in terms of GPU issues no (nothing short of a overclocked sandy bridge i5 will fix that). A 6770 or higher will not bottleneck a cpu even at 4x IR.

No good. What games tend to give issues for non-SB processors? I'm assuming there are options to make the games with issues work, by lowering quality and such. I hope this is the case.
