Is it reasonable/normal that after some hours of mostly continuous usage of Dolphin, my non-overclocked i5-760 reaches over 85-90 degrees according to CoreTemp?
(It returns to 40-55 degrees quite quickly after I close Dolphin though, and the Voltage seems balanced in CPU-Z).
For some reason I believe the CPU uses Turbo Frequency more than it should (it seems like it reaches higher frequencies than it's supposed to, considering I use all my cores), but I don't know. Just wanted to see what you guys think.

85-90 C or F?

C, sorry, forgot to mention.
Edit; by the way, usually when I use Dolphin, the CPU stays at like 70-80 degrees, not more than that. But tonight I played more than 1 continuous hour and realized it's heat really...grew.

Do some research and see what the norm/max temps are for thsat cpu. To me 85-90c sounds extremly hot. Make sure your cpu fan is working and its settings are correct. Heat is the #1 killer of electronics and can drastically shorten the lifespan of a cpu if care is not taken.
Edit: You will also want to check to make sure that the fins on the heatsink are not clogged with dirt and not allowing air to pass through them. If they are clogged I recommend removing the fan and heatsink and using an air compressor to blow the dirt away. If you do this you MUST remove the old thermal paste from the heatsink AND the cpu and reapply new paste upon installation.
Alright, thanks. I will do that asap.
Another question (it's quite unrelated to Dolphin now, sorry); according to Intel's Processor Identification Utility, my CPU's speed is 2.92 GHz although the expected speed is 2.80 GHz. Is it worth to under-clock my CPU?
The i5, just like the i7 features Turbo Boost, which automatically overclocks the cores that have the most load.
This feature can heat a lot.
You could underclock your CPU by using Window's Power Management, set an advanced power plan and set the maximum CPU performance at 99%, which will keep most of your speed, but will prevent Turbo Boost from working (and thus from heating).
Btw. As long as your CPU doesn't reach 100°C, you're "safe". At 100°C, your PC will automatically shutdown, as part of the CPU's overheating protection.
Little tip: buy a Zalmax Cooler if you want to use your CPU's full potential.

No, CM Hyper 212+ AWESOME cooler and only $30.
So apparently my CPU's fan was filled with dust and barely cooled the CPU down...
Right now it's much better, running ZTP on the highest resolution my PC can take I only get to like 55-65C on the hottest core with full speed. My cores' idle temperatures are also better, ranging at like 30-38C for each core. I'll take better care of my computer from now on, and if it'll get worse, I'll get a better cooling system in the new few months (and block the CPU's turbo boost feature if necessary).
Thank you guys for all the help!
thats a common problem...
the guys are thinking to know everything...
but never cleaned the fan in a year

55-65C under load is MUCH better. Glad to see that you got it fixed.
