So the Motion Plus patch is no more, but do the Wii Remote Plus (the ones with the Motion Plus built in) work on the recent builds? Could I play, say, Red Steel 2 on 'em?

Any sort of motion plus (built in or not) works with an actual Wiimote in recent builds. They just don't work with emulated Wiimotes.
