Hello guys, i dont know if im posting in the right place but........

Im going to but a new Computer next week, but i want one that is strong enough to run Dolphin and PCSX2, but ill be content enough with dolphin.

My question is/.....

What are minimum specs i would need to get the best out of Dolphin?

Oh and by the way, amazing emulator ive never seen an emu emulate a console so well before ( with the exception of NES/SNES..etc..... )
Dolphin is more like a "get the fastest machine your money can buy" type of emu. I don't like to talk about minimum specs, unless you tell us which games you are planning to play.
maybe could you tell us what CPU you got and we could tell ya if it's enough for example... Wink

ahh...welll ill just by the fastest i can afford then... im only really interested in the Mario and Zelda games.

@ Lord Vador........lol! the PC ive got now is a load of cr*p to be honest, it cant even run a ds emulator so that tells you...

well thx anyway guys ill just pop over to the alienware website and see whats available to me.
smg1/smg2 and zelda both with "to Ram" (for moving coins, or the map in zelda) + lle...

i5/i7sandybridge @4.0-4.4ghz clock...

a 5770++ is enough for 1080p
or 285++
Im running the super mario bros wii on my triple core at 3.9 ghz. If I run it as a dual core at 3.2 ghz it as slowdowns. The video card doesnt matter so much. Get a 50 doller video card it should be good enough. spend at least 150 on a processor.

Im running a phenom 555 that unlocked one hidden core. It overclocked from 3.2 to 3.9 stable on all cores aswell. I payed 90 dollers for it on new egg. I got a asus 5850 ($250) with the unlocked bios and I overclocked it to 900mhz stable. Im running a ddr2 ram board that I got for 100 aswell.

I got a 1000watt power supply for 100 bucks
I even got a 60gb solid 2 series from OCZ for $80

Man.... seems like i need an even more powerfull machine than i even thought, none of the PPCs in my local shop have processors faster than 3.2GHz, never mind 4.0GHz.i really only care about GC games anyway.

well does anyone know where i can find an online retailer that sells PCs with a processor that is 4.0GHz or faster.

sorry if i sound like a real noob....trouble is...iam when it comes to GC/Wii/PS2 emulation.

Im really confusedSad

Would this be enough, it was the best i could find at my store....

Windows 7 (64-bit)
Intel Core i5 @ 3.20GHz
Nvidea GeForce 9800
4GB DDR
DirectX v9.0c
500GB HDD

[EDIT] Oh and i have a '22" LG HD 1080p' Monitor too.

No, re-sellers don't sell any CPU that is above 4.0GHz
You have to OC yourself to get there preferably with a unlocked Sandy Bridge i5 2500K at 3.3GHz stock or the i7 2600K 3.4GHz stock.
From what I have read these babies OC to 4.0 like nothing.
