Quad core doesn't matter , only 10% speed boost if LLE is used
But the important thing is default clock speed : i7 2ghz .The i7 run hotter than i5 (about 10-15C), turbo boost will not work if the temp reach too high

it shouldn't be more than 140-200usd

it's pretty simple terminology for the new sandy bridge line any chip that has an m after it is dual core, and a q is quad core, I still stand my my recommendation of option 2 unless your buying this laptop entirely for dolphin then by all means get the first one

No need to OC ,that CPU could run all game full speed with HLE plugin , not sure about LLE
I5 480m @ 2.9Ghz run SMG2 at 40 FPS (HLE plugin , Dolphin r6xxx) -> i5 2540M @ 3.3Ghz run SMG2 full speed
