I would think that those "god damned idiots" (:p) would just leave the default
settings, unless something wasn't working for them, in which case they would
start experimenting with the settings or come here and complain. If you're
worried it might not be blatant enough, just include a little note at the top that
says "Disable all = fastest performance" or something similar.
Depending on who this is being compiled for (ppl with older/worse comps vs ppl
with newer/better comps), the default settings would either be to maximize
performance or to maximize accuracy. The Default settings should probably be
somewhere in the middle: good performance & good accuracy ratio or whatever.
I will let the rest of you guys figure out which settings specifically; but this does
not change the fact that Disabling a setting implies Opting out of something, and
that something should probably be accuracy, because the only people who would
be wanting to opt out of anything would be those looking for better performance.
You wouldn't opt out of performance because if you have a computer that can get
better accuracy at the same performance, there would be no difference in the
performance and therefore you would not be opting out of it. That leaves only one
thing that you can "Opt Out" of, and that's accuracy.
Which leads to the conclusion that Disable All should mean fastest while Enable All
should mean most accurate.
