I'm just thinking of what the Ivy bridge could do with Dolphin, next year will be an exiting year.
When, and how much do you think Ivy bridge will cost? I can't wait either, as they confirmed it'll use the same socket as Sandy (LGA1155)

Not quite. Some Ivy Bridge processors will be on socket 1155, but the main line-up will still be socket 2011.

Awh, that sucks. I hope it's not like the AM3 backup compatibility deal (not all of the features) either way, I'm excited.
how about this setup ? What games would maybe work? What components I should renew to get dolphin working efficiently ?
oh and my Video card is ATI Radeon X1200 with 128 MB memory, I have 3000 MB RAM.
what do you think ?

Since this seems to be the thread to ask in:
I'm trying to run the latest revision of Dolphin, I have Win7 x64, 4GB of RAM, Intel Core2Duo 2.2 GHZ, and an Nvidia GTX 240.
I tried running Mariokart Wii and SMG, and both were choppy and slow, dropping to about 15 fps at times. I thought this would be enough to make the games playable, but I guess it's not? Would running the iso off an external HDD be responsible for the lag, or is it just that my computer is crappy?
If it is because of a crappy comp, what would be the minimum hardware I would need to upgrade to to play games in 720p without lag?

Min :
Intel Dual Core @ 3.3Ghz or OC higher (depend on which game you play , SMG require 3.6ghz at least)
Nvidia 8600GT or Ati 4650
Ram 4Gb
Windows 7 64bit
Good :
New Sandy Bridge Dual Core Q6950 3.8Ghz (OC)
Nvidia 560 non Ti or Ati 5830
