I'm just thinking of what the Ivy bridge could do with Dolphin, next year will be an exiting year.

you've just got a new toy and you already think'bout the next one... Big Grin

I love new toys, but I also love to imagine how kick-ass it would be.
I'm also imagining a kick-ass GPU to go along with it.
I know there is GPU's with 4GB today but next year I hope the new cards is bigger.
The bigger the better...mm yummy.

the Ram Size of the GPU doenst tell anything about the performance...
a 5770 with 2gb is still slower then a 5970 with 1gb...

and show me the games which are using more then 1gb texture...
2-3? oh the new GTA is one and crysis 2 ...
jeah then a 5970 with 2gb would be 10-15% faster then the 5970 with 1gb...
if you are playing on ultra and over 1080p
if you are playing games who are using max 1gb the speed of both is equivalent

but jeah... i would prefer the 2gb

such bullshit the kiddys today are telling

Maybe you're right about that dannzen Smile But I'll buy GPU's for the RAM size anyway.
And next year I won't settle for anything less then 4GB or higher.
My only worry is that I'm going to need a bigger case, the 6950 barely fits at it is.
Hey, something really strange that happens on my emulator on the laptop: At the start of the game, (when you can choose the file to play), if I press the "Graphics" button on the emulator, then i close that window (the graphics window) the sea behind mario gets a little screwed up, with a white and blue color, but after that, the emulator's speed goes up! When playing as Mario, the normal speed is 105%-120%, then I put the framelimit to 100, but the speed still is high, then, when I put the framelimit to 50, the speed goes only to 100%! That means if I put the limit to 50, the game speed will be 98%-100% (but it is almost always 100%) Can someone explain that???Huh

BTW, is there a way to run and shoot water on Mario Sunshine? I mean, with the gamecube controller you can run and shoot by pressing the R button without clicking it, is there a way to do it on dolphin?
are these both laptops or desktops??

I'm only talking about my windows 7, which is a Laptop.

Now I know what happens here, this happens when I put EFB to texture and not to RAM, this gives more speed but with whis there is a glitch with the goop, sometimes there are invisible goops , sometimes the people under the goop (when they're stuck there) won't get out.

EDIT: One other question: Does it make any difference if I put the entire Dolphin folder inside the ramdisk and not only the game? Will there be more speed?
EDIT: Three questions: 1st: Does it make any difference if I put the entire Dolphin folder inside the ramdisk and not only the game? Will there be more speed?
2nd:Should I use Direct3D9 or Direct3D11? Is there any difference?
3rd:If I debug Dolphin, will it speed up?

I had to double post or else nobody would see that there are new replies on this thread.
1)no, just put the iso rom in ramdisk to load faster, if you put dolphin folder in ramdisk and the pc crash or power loss, you lose everything

2)dx9 is better most of the time so far unlike pcsx2 that runs better en dx10
