why does donkey kong look like crap but the rest of the game does not? (or is that just my eyes playing tricks on me)

It is not, I had noticed that too, but I guessed it must look like this when the game is not running

Try pressing ALT + F5 and reconnect.
And turn off the Wii Remote speaker and download the latest version of Dolphin.

and the games running not good on my system

Intel Core i3 350M 2x2,26 GHz
4096 MB DDR3
Radeon HD5650 1024 MB (directx 9 / 11)
i play on a Full Hd
