What are the minimum requirements for dolphin gets any game playable at full speed?
seems a phenom x4 955 overclocked at 3,8ghz does not seems enough, if at least it had support for quad cores, but works only with two cores, the emulator isn't a good deal if you don't have a I7 980x processor.

what are your settings and gpu?
Intel Core 2 duo beat Phenom in dolphin
Dolphin support quad cores but you only gain 10% if LLE plugin is used

Core i5 2500k kill any game ,go for it ! .I7 980 if only you rob a bank

there is no support for quad core, support for quadcore means that emulator works with four cores, and not with two cores, and no way for a core 2 duo beat a phenom overclocked at 3,8ghz I can play zelda on 30fps in some areas slowdown to 22fps, but donkey kong play at 48fps and it only uses 50% of the processor.

I know Dolphin is multiplatform but this has been developped with windows in mind to be honest , so opengl is a bit left aside (to be simple , fps are better with Dx than Ogl atm )

What are the minimum requirements for dolphin gets any game playable at full speed?

Not EVERY game can be played full speed (some do some wont even launch)

the opengl or directx is not the problem, the emulator isn't optmized to work with GPU, I have tested dolphin on windows 7 32bits and I get the same FPS that I get in gentoo
Well, my e5300 run DKCR fullspeed (sometime slowdown to 48FPS as you said) and E5300 is pentium series not a real Core 2 Duo (E8xxx)

Do you know what the difference performance between windows 32 vs windows 64?
I have not tested it on windows 64bits yet

32 bit windows limits the amount of RAM your system will use (usually around 2 - 4GB).

64 bit windows allows for more RAM use.

Not sure if there's any other difference though.
I dont think anyone has a true clear cut this will run this wont run based on your specs. A lot of people claiming that you need ridiculous specs but its just simply not that true. Configuring your settings and playing around with each game is the best method first.

With your setup and the right settings I dont see why you wouldnt be able to handle near everything.

The hardest 2 games to get decent frames in imho is Xenoblade and Last story. If you can run those solid you can run anything.
