I've run AVX x64 version, and it crushes even with copied missing file. I can post error message if it may help.

you need win7 and sp1 installed. winxp/vista won't run. this is a must.
I have win7 but dont have sp1, and I wonder if this optimization is worth installing it? Can anyone tell me how big it's speedup comparing to sse4.2?
I don't like any updates of windows, cause it usual slowdown system or give more errors.

kb minor fixes and sp major fixes will protect your windows. it is up to you to decide. yes it slow down the performance a bit, but you've better enhancement and protection.

i can not tell the difference between avx and sse4.2 but i've only tested a couple of games like metriod prime and soul caliber, infact i would say mamarios builds seem to run smoother for me, i get very stuttery gameplay with these builds

like i said the icc avx build could be just avx 128bits instruction set and it is not likely 256bits instruction set.
sorry, I want to ask some question, when I use the different version emu , it always must to be settting the joystick(have any easy way to be change it) , thx very much.
None of these builds run at me on my Win7 x64? Ive got SP1 Installed.

I've got the AVX build for 64build to work pretty well, I think there might be an improvement at least over Xtreme2damax most recent sse 4.2 build, I have't tested mostly just metriod Prime 2 on dx 9 since that's what i'm playing atm, but i quickly booted the other games in dx 9 and 11 they all work, Performacne wise, it seems at least compared to Xtreme2damax build, that there are some situation where system resources draw is lower(alot of the time on my laptop it's at 100%, full hd dsp hle) but at other it's about the same,
