I swear I've given up reading what it says in this thread. I'm not buying a Wii U. As there's no point yet, I won't hold out for an emulator.

The only constructive thing I'll do is to remind naturalviolence that graphene can get much, much hotter than silicon can, so heat issues will be more or less made irrelevant, although power leakage etc. won't be fixed.
Graphene will also likely require much higher voltages to achieve the same clock rates. It is likely that the extra heat generated by this will offset the advantages of being able to function at higher temperatures. That one property doesn't necessarily make it a good alternative to silicon.
low voltage graphene / ion gel hybrid transistors are in the works
To everyone in this thread Wii U, I'm sticking with my PC.

Edit: No spoiler tag, it has been ruined ffffuuuuuuuuuu.

You don't go to r/f4u10 for rage comics.
There's a new rumor now saying that the Wii U's CPU is the same core as Wii, with 3 of them and larger L2's, clocked a little bit faster.

And,

undefined Wrote:"Write gatherer per core. Locked (L1d) cache DMA per core." are features straight from the Wii and GC PPC.

3MB of edram on the CPU for the 512/512/2048 L2 caches listed a few pages ago.

Now obviously it's still going to be vastly different in other areas, but lets just say this rumor is true and that it wouldn't take that much to get at least the foundation of a Wii U emulator going from Dolphin: do you think any of you would join or start a Wii U emulator project?

You would have to be pretty stupid to believe that. This is most likely just the result of dumb people mixing up an instruction set architecture with a microarchitecture and therefore reaching a false conclusion.

Plus not even the instruction set architecture could be the same because it's horribly out of date. Not including modern PPC extensions like altivec would be an extremely poor decision on nintendos part, I don't see them doing that.

The core microarchitecture and instruction set architecture are more likely going to be nearly identical to the xbox360/PS3 PPE.

Some of the devs might end up one day working on a Wii U emulator but it's definitely going to be a different emulator. The Wii U is a completely different system.
So maybe 3 instances of Dolphin running at the same time, then sync them and a few rewrites on the code and voila... Wii U emulator.

No.....just no.
