so for windows 8 i MUST be online at all times so windows can double check i bought the OS legally? what if i'm in uni and cannot get internet access? (the walls are at least 30-40cm thick so internet downtime is guaranteed)

theres even a Windows Genuine Advantage update for Win7 that has the chance of BREAKING computers that have a legal copy, the reason why the update is unselected as default

i smell a lingering fail...
Count me out.

Who ever came up with the ribbon needs to die in a fire.

I pretty sure it can be turned off.
That image reminds me of Office 2007 with it's Ribbon, and I really liked that suite.
However for Windows 8 I don't quite feel the same, Windows 7 all the way anytime any day.
is that windows or office?
that sucks ass man

btw : dont get me wrong, i like it they re-added buttons on the explorer; but its ugly as fuck!
That's explorer (first line links to the blog post explaining it). Seeing how it can't be turned off in other software it has tainted (Office, paint, wordpad,LiveMail) we'll be needing a Classic Shell for Win8. At least they brought back the up button so we can stop complaining about that.Wink

Windows 8 does look quite nice. Much more pretty is something I can say.
Will it be better for dolphin/gaming?

I guess being another windows it will be easier to use. I'm quite happy with windows 7 though. I think if they make more windows after 8 I think it'll be pretty pointless.

Like changing the brick houses we have now for those ones you see in those "futuristic city" pictures. Like sure it looks pretty but it costs alot for something we don't need.

However I still look forward to Windows 8.
I see another Vista coming, subsequently followed by it's own 7.

Maybe, maybe not.
Maybe Windows 7 was the last good OS we ever saw being shipped from Redmond.
It doesn't look good for 8 at the moment in my book.
To be honest I think many of us here don't see any use for 8 at the time being.

Dolphin, PC games and much of the software I use in a daily basis works perfect in 7 why would I ever wanna trade that for a worse OS like 8 probably gonna be.

Frankly SP2 for 7 is the thing I'm looking forward to at the moment with it's release next year.

Windows 8 = send it to the recycle bin
