Similar here, I installed it in a VM, tried out the new fancy widgets and found them rather useless. The Desktop looks like Windows 7 for me. I didn't really bother using it any more ;p

It specifically says temp Big Grin, if they do what they did to me last time (aka let me buy a full version [home] for $50) I'll get it otherwise I'll go for windows 7.

Also it crashes for me...ALOT mostly with network type stuff like playing minecraft on a server.
Temp doesn't mean it isn't what you currently boot into.

Anyway, I may get it, either on a computer, or as an upgrade licence, as it won't destroy my legal copy of windows 7 or other legal copy of windows vista (probably what I'd upgrade from) and eventually there will be things that won't run on older software.

My main problem is that I don't own a touchscreen that I could ever hook up to a pc, so miss out on metro's only use, and it isn't compatible with gamepads, which it should be, so I'm stuck with a mouse, which it doesn't work with. In fact, I'm still cross that I can't get my XP start menu on 7.

I think there is an (unofficial) way to do so, but I can't remember.
There is, but I'm too lazy, and don't care quite enough, to do it.
Seems like they're gonna release a Release Preview in the upcoming days, not that I'm any way excited but interesting nevertheless:

I'm just gonna spit it out, I sincerely hate the new metro sexual interface.
I hope they include an option to turn it off completely, otherwise 7 is here to stay a long long time.
Maybe this one will work with my XBox pad, in which case I may use my virtual machine again, or legitimise the OS on the computer I would use as a media centre (except it would be easier to drag my PC downstairs than to boot it up, find out I'd lost the keyboard, find one etc.). In fact, that PC may be grateful for uBuntu, as it doesn't need to do anything I'd need to meddle with settings for, just play films.
8 will be beautiful once you can rely only on the Metro side of things, but as it currently stands, there is a HUGE jar between the 2 modes.
This is gonna suck hard
