Even if they won't work you could always dual boot an older windows or just run them via wine on a linux distro of your choice. Ironically WINE has better backwards compatibility with older win apps than windows itself. Not to mention native emu ports.
Or some virtual machine program (Not Virtual PC)

Lol, did you install wins8 on the same partition as wins7 ?
ha must have formatted the win7 partition XD
With Win8 ARM being Metro only I lost all interest. I'd love to have something like
this but running Windows.
I'm using Windows 8 for a day now and Metro is taking longer than I'd like to stop annoying me. I just always think like: "let me open X program" and drag the mouse to the windows symbol, but then I'm like "Oh wait, it's not there anymore, I have to go to Search and then Apps, that sucks" Is that the only way to reach applications like paint and notepad?
Shit.
Also, I deleted my IE icon from the taskbar, is there anyway to get it back? I can't create a nw shortcut and the IE on Metro sucks. This is just a mess.
If final version usability turns out like this I'm gonna use windows 7 'till 9 ^^
After all, I learned how to do and find everything I'd have in Windows 7 on a Mac in less than 4 hours, why is does MS like to make things complicated?
