- 128 bit OS
- Will (probably) exclusively have IE10 (like anyone here uses IE anyway) and has a Windows Phone 7 look
- MORE F****** RIBBONS
- The Start button and the System Tray looks like my Wii...

So... is everyone gonna fork out Mo Money? and will Dolphin work on a 128bit OS?

Smells like Microsoft is starting to lose money...
Looks like we'll have to migrate to a Linux Distro Tongue

Wasting billions on Xbox or Bing can't get MS to lose money. Losing a few Win8 sales won't hurt them.
Well, they are still losing money, even if it's just 1 Dollar Big Grin
The more I read and hear about Windows 8 the more I don't feel like getting it.

Windows 7 today for me is the best OS I have used since Windows XP back in late 2006 before Vista and it works with everything, games emulators etc. etc.
XP and Vista was good, but Windows 7 is a god and Windows 8 is gonna be a fiend biatch.

Everything works perfectly OK with Windows 7 today, there is no chance in hell that I will break it with a wannabee like 8.

I said that myself about XP several times, 7 will become obsolete eventually. When a product is very very good, I can't expect them to make it better on next version, I just expect nothing worse, but still I have to change it sooner or later because regardless of the quality it will get old and its features will stop being enough.

For most gamers and software developers, for example, XP doesn't do the cut anymore, no DX10/11, no decent 64bit support, etc.

Yeah it's a undeniable fact sadly that everything have to become obsolete eventually no matter how good it works.

But I'll try to use and hold on to 7 as long as I possibly can because software wise every single application I use today works without problems or any major flaws and it sure takes time to get everything just the way you want it.
And it's only recently that I have felt that I truly can enjoy everything 7 has to offer with what I do.

With 8 god knows what's gonna work and don't work.
Both rigs is relatively newly built and should hold a few years, that give me some breathing time with 7 and if something unexpected were to happen next year, 7 still gonna work.

8 won't happen for me that I know and I'm trying the best as I can not to think about the future.

7 is my best friend and we're a good team, it have to take much before I say goodbye to him not to mention my other pals the emulators.
It would be devastating if any of them stopped working.
I need to stop thinking about this.
You're being paranoid, I don't expect any major fuck up like microsoft like that, they seem to have learned a bit from Vista. Not much, but a bit.

Also, I expect them to fix a little more the 64 bit compatibility, which is becoming more mature since its debut in XP 64 (which sucked hard). Vista was better than xp on this point but had major driver incmpatibilities. 7 has almost perfect 32bit aplication compatibility on 64bit version, but some drivers still fuck up (I lost a printer when moving to 7, it was a little old and had no 64bit driver, I tried a lot of things and searched for days but the printer was useless)

If they do that it's a +1 for buying it already. Expecting they won't fork the usability with metro, it should be nice after we get used to it. c'mon.

Anyways, I think people is making too much assumptions based on some seconds of videos and out-of-context screens, regardless the visuals, which we always have adapted to, the important thing is if they will keep (and hopefully further improve) the robust interface and fix usabilitty and compatibility issues.

It's important to note tough, most OSs from MS come not too good, and mature over its first/second year with the updates.
