that looks like all the info an average joe needed to search online.

Haha that error screen, I laughed so loud thinking how nice it would be having Barney the mascot included standing there.

no it does not. the example you see above is a driver problem. good luck figuring out which driver if you get no dll name
09-17-2011, 04:28 AM
hmm you're right, i seem to vaguely recall having the exact dll named on bsod. then again it's been such a long time since my last bsod, on the day of using vista iirc.

Haha you guys. BSOD!?! You serious?
Haven't really had one since the days of Windows 98
Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, Server 2008 and Server 2008 R2 no problems at all.

ive had quiet a few. mainly because of HHD or RAM failures ( paging BSOD) or nvidia screwing up their drivers again (all sorts of BSOD's, mainly driver irq error like seen above)

me, usually because of hardware or driver failure and overclock instability.

At first , I thought Windows 8 run dolphin faster than W7 but i was wrong . The speed are the same , except :
Pro:
_ Windows 8 boots faster on 5400rpm HDD : 10 secs vs 30secs
_ Application run faster (Metro UI)
Con:
_ Internet Explorer 64 bit is in the Metro UI but it keep freezing if i open so many pages
_ Can not close application but have to use task manager
_ Some application does not work correctly

Then I guess I have been a lucky guy all these years (not that I hope to get one)
I have seen pictures of several BSOD's and never really understood a thing of them.
But HDD, RAM and GPU failures sounds logical to me, it's bound to happen at some point...eventually

I think if I were to buy Windows 8 it will soley be for performance reasons of emulation and games.
Right now Dolphin on 8 might be on par with 7 but if it turns out that performance increases as development goes on then I could live with 8.
But the Metro UI would be kicked out and disabled, I really can't stand it.
