that's why I said, make or find a multithreaded ppc to x86 emulator. Then dolphin will be better multithreaded. Do you understand how hard it is to split a single core cpu into multiple cores?

I'm not by any means a professional programmer. The most complicated thing I have programmed is a side-scrolling fighter game in C++ using the DarkGDK library. With the little knowledge that I have though, I can come close to imagining how hard it is. Which is exactly why I said this in the first place:

Core2uu Wrote:Exactly. In which case, developers' time will be best spent improving the graphics plug-in rather than trying to implement something like multi-threading for the emulation of the CPU/GPU, which I'm not sure of the possibility of in the first place.
sorry I misunderstood you.

No problem. Tongue

BTW boogerlad, are you involved in development at all? Just wondering.

no he's not

Lol, way to answer the question for him.

If I know the answer I'm going to answer for him Smile
I'm just a geek. Wish I could be a developer. I just know this stuff from reading the dev comments on google code.

Did I say something stupid?
if you'd look on the google code wiki's you'd notice we got 4 threads going on lol

I'm aware of that. What I meant by "trying to implement something like multi-threading for the emulation of a single processor" was trying to have multiple threads for just one thing, like sound for example. AFAIK, Dolphin only has one thread for each thing, like a single thread for sound, a single thread for CPU/GPU etc. etc.

You didn't exactly read the whole of my post but then again I didn't exactly word it properly either, lol.
i did, you just aren't clear enough cause a processor is 99% of the time the cpu
and that still makes me lol cause its a horrible idea that might slow stuff down instead of speed up
yeah thats crazy

P.S has any one with quad core try using Ashampoo® Core Tuner and give all the 4 core power to Dolphin to see is there any changes like more speed
