I was just having this problem and this thread is pretty old, but I unplugged my joypads and started it back up and it ran fine, plugged them back in, booted it up, froze again. I think its because I switched them from the back ports to the front. Give that a shot, maybe try all your usb devices Confused .

Thanks for the tip, good sir. Everything's working just fine now.

My dolphin started hanging for no reason at all when launching a game with the message "clearing code cache".

I just took your advice and unplugged my controllers from USB - and it worked!

For anyone who is having this problem - try this step however unlikely it may sound.
And for this posts, you digged out this one year old thread...
Eh, it's better than creating a new thread altogether. At any rate, at least it shows that unplugging USB devices might actually be viable solution to clear code cache problems.
lol..... my completely no correlation sense is tingling.
Well, from what NotDavidM said, it doesn't sound entirely unrelated, as the problem was solved by removing USB joypads and later recreated by plugging them back in. Though this has only been observed by two people in this thread, so that's not saying it should work for everyone or even that it should be the first solution offered with clear code cache problems. If anything, it should be something like a last resort (given how random the solution itself is), but you never know when it might work for someone.
But for scopeh it's in the beginning of a game.

@scopeh : is it in one specific game? Or did you mean you got the "clearing code cache" issue with all games?
DefenderX: Nercroing threads when it is not pertinent should be frowned upon.

Posting in a thread which is over a year old when your post is relevant is legit, and is much better than creating multiple threads about the same topic every time it pops up - if the admins have a problem with that then let them police it instead of posting messages of disapproval.

On Topic: Yeah my issue was with ALL games - I would boot an ISO, and be met with a blank screen. "Clearing Code Cache" was displayed in the bar of the window and the emulator crashed if any further attempt to interupt the program was made.

This issue may have been brought on as I was playing MGS:TTS last night on a boss which required me to continually mess with the GCPad plugin to move my control from port to port.

As the fix to the problem was in relation to the controller needing to be unplugged - could this have anything to do with me messing with GCPad?
Psycho Mantis... what an amazing boss!

Have you tried running these games with a clean Dolphin 3.0? Or other versions for that matter?
