The main problem with that patch is that we don't really know if it actually works well. We've accepted a similar patch for ciso support a few months ago and it turned out to work fine for many games but others would fail for no apparent reason without anyone trying to fix it.

EDIT: Looking over the patch, it looks more like a quick'n dirty patch rather than something which meets Dolphin's code quality standards (... which aren't really all that high, but no reason to include more hacky code). E.g. there's a line which reads "HACKS AHOY!" in the patch Tongue

Undecided I am wondering if Is there any possibility in the near future to improve dolphin emulator with this feature ? you know, wbfs files are very small files and I am feel I am wasting my time converting them to larger iso files just to loading them into dolphin emulator.

This is just a fad take it or leave it,be grateful of years of hard from the dolphin team, and the things they've made so far, yeah it would be nice and i'm sure that if the team would think it's an easy or quick thing to do,they woulda done it by now,and since no one is paying them to do this, except maybe for a handful of donors they gotta pay the bills somehow, can't stand 24/7 working on revs.

Get another ripper that supports iso, then you'll be spending your converting time compressing them to .gcz instead.
I tend to agree WBFS would be cool, but the rips I made i just used GCZ. I think the real question is how to batch compress/uncompress. If you have a lot of games in WBFS than that certainly is no good if you have to use GCz. One by one converting is a big pain. I have a good number of GC games I ripped and I left them as iso's. Oh how I wish there was a way to get them all to GCZ, there is no way I'd do that one by one.

So yeah I can see why people would want WBFS support. Me personally, I just want a batch compressor for GCZ. I see the source to do it, just need to find the time to build an application for it, time time time, where does it go.

1. Select them all in dolphin game list
2. right click > Compress
3. ???
4. Profit

Hmm I might be off here, but I remember back when I ripped my GameCube games that I just renamed them .iso to .gcz and it worked just fine using them in Dolphin afterwards.

I think you're thinking of .gcm. gcz is actually compressed.
You know, it probably wouldn't be very hard to implement .wbfs support, and I doubt any patch for it would be rejected if it works fine. Just saying.

Yep I figured I was off there, it was .gcm I meant and not .gcz
Sorry about that.
