Err, no. Only the coastlines are affected. Inland is quite safe, actually.
Japan is an incredibly progressive country - they will rise again and conquer the world even more than before. Believe me.

although the Nintendo offices were not destroyed, i have a hard time believing the employees were unaffected by the disaster in some way. what are the possibilities that the people coding this game don't have families to care for? also, it would be hard to concentrate with all of the Caesium-137 particles in the air, sea, and food. so, i do not expect this game to be released on time.

after the chernobyl disaster, the cloud of fallout spread over most of europe, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_Mj5IbXwW0 some reactors at the fukishima daiichi plant had been emitting clouds of steam carrying radioactive particles for a week or more. the tap water in tokyo is already seeing increases in radioactive elements. tepco even confirmed the existence of high levels of radiation in the sea water near the plant.

as for fallout, it looks like america gets the biggest taste of that. but, remember that is a forecast of current clouds of fallout, not taking into account the future release of particles which will continue to occur as tepco vents hydrogen gas buildups which threaten to blow more lids off of the cores.

it is a possibility that it is all "business as usual" at Nintendo. i have personally been on the edge of my seat, waiting to see where this goes.

I just hope they don't make it have as many feminine moments like in OOT / TP, or annoying sounds like the wolf howling or god forbid Malon's singing.
