Hi guys,

Wondering, can dolphin run on the macbook air and give reasonable emulation speed?

As I travel a bit, would like to have some downtime gaming on dolphin. I am chosing the macbook air because of this light weight and small profile (going for 11" version).

Do advise.
A Macbook Air is overpriced **it.
Get a Macbook Pro instead, or a PC that costs the same but can do much better.

You won't even be able to run NSMBWii on that MBA.
don't intend for heavy gaming.

games I plan to play via bootcamp + win 7 32bit are :
crysis (which I know runs flawlessly on medium setting)
aion (runs well low-medium setting)
Street fighter 4 (dunno how it will run)

and in mac osx:
Doom 3
Quake 4
Q3A
Dolphin (for the likes of RE0, RE1, Rabbids 2)

And portability is still more important to me. So I'm deciding between 11" and 13"

OK
We do it the other way...
Think of the Macbook Air as if it would be a Netbook (Which it actually is)
Does Crysis run on a Netbook ?
Does Aion run on a Netbook ?
Does Street Fighter 4 run on a Netbook ?
Can you emulate on a Netbook ?

THE ANSWER: Yes they do (If you are happy with 3FPS on minimal Settings)

I have a macbook air with gt320m, it runs games okay-ish at about 800x600 at the most.

Some lighter games like NSMB run at full speed at 1280x800 resolution.

SMG and Zelda lag horribly though, which is understandable. It's not a gaming system..

Pretty much, but then again it has a proper core 2 duo instead of an atom which isn't usable for almost anything besides videos and internet browsing.

tbh if you want to game on a computer, forget about mac in general if you want to play at decent settings and res.
yes it does work but you'll have to tune down a lot of stuff to get full speed

As far as I know, Crysis runs at 25-30 fps at native res via bootcamp on Windows 7
Aion, native res as well, 15-25fps depending on number of players on screen, again via bootcamp in windows 7

all those I know, I just need to know who well mac version of dolphin will do.

please only reply, if you own the machine like Ocean. Thanks for the feedback Ocean. Did you try Resident Evil Zero and Archieve on your MBA?
