Hey guys,

I was wondering,
As i compress all my iso's as it can compress it from 1.4gb easy to 600mb or even less or just 1.2gb but still it can take of alot! even got a few of just 100mb.

But here's the question,
Does it slow down your game as it has to uncompress data when it needs it,
For me i dont notice any slow down at all.

This is more a question for people with a more slow computer Smile.
So does it slow your gaming down or is it so low that it isnt even noticed by players with slow systems ?

And btw i also compress my Wii iso's,
But its kinda hard to tell them apart is there any trick to it to figure out whats a ngc or a wii compressed iso ?
Sometimes, compressing can break games! Just take care of it!
Havent had any problems with games breaking because of being compressed.
It might break wii games though as they seems to remove some stuff forgot what its called,
Scrubbing or something.
That does suck yeah but thats not what this thread is about.
You might wanna read it before posting Smile.

Edit:
Also if its a lossless compression what i asume it is as it has a uncompress option,
Then for at least ngc games you can just uncompress them Wink.
Unless the compressor is broken.. and forgets to compress some bytes or something :/ what would be odd..
What's the point of this topic ! ??
If you would actually read it you would know..
Damn... is that so hard ?

I'm asking if compressing the iso's will slow down the game.
And if so how much would it slow it down.
COMPRESSING CAN NOT BREAK GAMES

FUUUUUU
Still thats not what i was asking..
Could somebody answer my question instead talking about something diffrent :/.
1. if your computer can handle dolphin, the decompression overhead won't be noticable
2. try first, complain later
Really people never read the whole post do they,
I never said i had a problem as i said in my post,

I aint complaining i'm asking because i just wanted to know..
And i find it quite normal to wonder about something like that.

Now it seems your a mod or admin,
And still you fail to read my post 2 times.. isnt that a bit weird ?

lol

He already answered that, only in a different kind of language.
if that's hard for you to understand, I think he wanted to say that if the computer's spec is quite high, there is almost no difference in speed that is noticeable.
So if it is quite low (maybe under dual core with less than 2.0GHz), there might be a reduce in speed (it might depends on the hard drive's RPM too).

for second answer, you can see their size are different, WII isos after compressed should be >= 1GB, as for the GC isos are less than 1GB (I think)
