OK I got a question: as you know the 955 is a 125w CPU but the mobo only supports a 95w CPU, BUT if I update the BIOS I can use a 125w CPU my question is how can I update the BIOS if I do NOT have a 95w CPU? Acording to this guy \/ \/ \/ I can but I wanted to double check with you guysWink
Quote: I chose a 125w Phenom II X 4 955 chip since the Biostar website says it supports it. I put it together and booted up and it said, " Max Power over 95W system will now shout down". I could not figure out what the problem was. After some reading I was told to use a 95W CPU and then update BIOS then change to 125W CPU. That is a problem, I don't have another CPU that is 95W. After many hours of reading I was told that you can lower the voltage to fake the MB out to think it is a 95W CPU. Didn't work, nothing would even come up after this. I did some reading and found out how to reset the pin on board to go back to default. Tried wattage many times, didn't work. Finally found by pressing F11 many times I got to a BIOS update screen. I had to make a bootable USB, then d/l new BIOS, then flash BIOS. FINALLY WORKED!! Kind of fun to figure out though.
i would do the samething...

reset the bios with the pin
slam F11 and hope that he boot without setting the new voltages
try to flash the bios

Try Amazon - I got my MSI GT460 768 MB for less than it was on Newegg.
You saw the pics of it in the PC buying guide thread Wink
Don't get the 768MB model for slight extra amount of money the 1GB goes a lot farther. Also, don't get the SE version either.

The 460 that he linked had about $50 knocked off; it was open box. Since he was a slowpoke, though, it's sold out.

The 5830 isn't exactly a value card, though. It's always been the ugly redheaded stepchild of the 5800 series. You would benefit from shopping around a bit more.
