Since marco's latest fifo commit, all games I tested that had speed issues are now back to their normal speeds from before marco's fifo commits.

I think you mean hypertheading

The opposite for me. Quote from another thread:

I think its r6971 which was a FIFO commit.

r6970 runs fine but r6972 loses 10fps with the same settings. Couldn't test r6971 itself because it did not compile on dolphin-emu.org.

I was referring to the games that had speed issues with the initial rework of the fifo code, games such as NSMB are back up to speed with the HLE plugin and EFB to Ram. I did realize that SMG/SMG2 was running a bit slower after that commit though, but I thought it may have been because I was using EFB to Ram.
I did lose about 10 FPS in SMG around that time, however it's the same as before Dlist caching, which no longer makes a speed difference, so I figured it was something with dlist caching not working with SMG or my comp
EDIT: Nvm the Dlist was long ago, yeah it's also even slower as of late
It became faster for me after r7109 however with the recent changes r7120 has sped up even more but it's very unstable in terms of speed. Metroid Prime runs at full speed but it feels like it's run at double that yet sometimes there are massive speed drops when there is nothing of significance happening, F-Zero GX runs at full speed but it also suffers from those massive speed drops at random times.
so do you suggest that R6970 is the latest, most stable speed-wise release?
I do.
