With JITTL game still freezes while fading into character selection, with audio skipping/looping every 5 seconds.
Try a few more times. Keep pressing start throughout. It's going to freeze anyway, so there is no point. I bet a memory card save might load to somewhere in the game if we had one.

No luck. Even tried the revision in your screenshot, r6000. Same thing. With Real XFB enabled, intro FMV is fine, main menu is fine. Hit New Game, and it starts to barely fade into the select screen, and freezes. I searched for a gamecube save file for Gladius, preferably near the start of the game, but no luck there either. Do you have one?
I got it to work and not freeze. Smile

Do not use dual-core. I'll make a save for you.

Disabling Dual-Core was the answer! It works now! Thanks so much!
After you play a while and make some saves, maybe you can enable dual-core again for a speedup. You'll have to try it at different points in the game though, not sure.

Thanks! Tried it once. Loading a save fails with dual core on, so no go. The game is at 35% speed. Any tips for making this game in particular faster? My computer can run everything full speed normally, even at high internal resolution.
You can go back to JIT and not use JITIL. JIT seems a bit faster. The game is slow because it needs MMU enabled, (don't need MMU, but MMU speed hack only) so nothing to do but overclock if you can. Set the internal resolution to 1x anyway and see if it helps speed.
