It went from very smooth with issues with keeping up with the sound in videos, to awful. So I made this topic. I may not have been exploring this Rev enough, but my results are the total opposite of others.

That really has nothing to do with my builds though, considering my builds are compiled from the same code base as mamario's and others builds. I noticed that there is a significant performance drop with the Vbeam speed hack disabled across all builds on my i7 processor. Whatever the hack fixes or bypasses is resource intensive, hence why disabling it decreases performance.

However it has been reported that the hack can be disabled without decreasing performance, by enabling progressive scan.

The VBeam hack must have had a different setting on your emulator. I can't recall what it was set to to be honest, but I can't replicate how slow it was.

I have a question. So in Tales of Symphonia before this update, the sound would lag behind the action in cut scenes. While I have not gotten to a cut scene yet, I noticed when I stayed at the Inn, well, the screen normally goes blank, the Inn chime plays, and then the Inn returns. Now, the Inn returns before the sound finishes playing. This happens on both HLE and LLE. Is this something I can fix in settings or does this update introduce some bugs?

The game does seem like it is running too fast. I have the FPS capped at 60 to prevent this most of the time, but it is sometimes noticeable in how the characters move.

Edit: It seems when the square next to the VBeam Hack is blank, the game runs fine. I can't tell if that is enabling the hack or what, because the string is "Disable VBeam hack", so I would think when it is checked it is disabled and when it is blank it is enabled, but I may be wrong. Point is, that's what I'm singling out.
