value wise price/performance hell no for gaming. rather invest that $100 difference on a better gpu.

What he said ^_^!!
yes, coz pairing a good gpu with a crap cpu makes sense. not.

ffs Squall, troll much? a 2500K is hardly "crap".
no, i was talking about buying a $100 cheaper (than a 2500K) processor as crap.
since over here, $100 cheaper puts you in Phenom II pricing......
$100 cheaper than a 2600K puts you in 2500K pricing. which was kind of the discussion.

lol, i just pissed my pants. better go change

I think he ment $100 cheaper than a 2500 put you a crappy cpu.
In that case then yes he'd be right
@Squall
He was talking about $100 as the difference in price between the 2600k and 2500k. The whole point of this thread was to help the OP decide between those two. Since the addition of HT won't help dolphin in any way....spending that extra $100 on a better gpu is a logical choice.
I'm in the same situation. 2500 vs 2600, don't know if its worth it if all your PC's only primary function is for gaming. Also, has the sandybridge motherboard recall thing been fixed already? I noticed a friend selling h67 boards but haven't asked yet if these are just old stock with the sata2 problem.
No the cougar point (SB for the P67/H67 chipsets) problem has not been fixed yet. And spending the extra $100 on a 2600k for gaming is pointless.
