As regarding to what's the best revision, I would love to put you in the same situation and ask you that question, considering there are nearly 5000+ usable revisions. Though I guess it doesn't hurt to ask right? Sorry for being rude, it's just that everyone makes the same question expecting people even know such an answer... I'd say just try out the latest rev and the official 2.0 release.
