Hi there,
I've a simple question to you: How do you store your roms?
In which format and what kind of compression?

Because I don't want to need over 4GB per game, I'm looking for the best way to compress and store them.

All ways I know:
1) As trimmed ISO (e.g. with WiiScrubber)
2) As cISO (compact Wii Iso) (e.g. with Wii Backup Fusion)
3) As gcz (Dolphin's compression format)

With 1) I've the problem, that it can destroy parts of the game, e.g. save function in HoD (vgl. Wiiscrubber question Thread)
Even if it makes (slightly) the smallest files - that's not acceptable.

So 2) and 3) are left, who have nearly the same size. Difference in functionality?? For which would you decide? Or rather: How do you store your roms? Cool

Greetings
Why not use a full .iso? Do you really need the space that bad?
I use the .gcz's for playing, and I have the full ISOs backed up on two hard drives.

Then again, I have almost everything backed up on at least two storage mediums.
Hehe, that's a really careful way.

@NaturalViolence: Somewhen there is always the time, when space getting needful Wink... and 4,4GB per Game is not less ... mainly if you can reduce it around 50%...

...and if you can do it by deleting/packing unnecessery, random garbage data, it's a good clean up...

But that's the question: Is there really no data loss using one of both compression formats? Can the decompressing methods bring back the "original" 1:1?
(s.a. Compressing & Decompressing thread)

Or do you know any pros/cons else between these formats and the original?
i just move all my game ciso and keep backup with wbfs.
i have a terrabyte hard drive and another terrabyte external drive.........i have enough space, i use full iso
TETRA COST 60 DOLLARD GO FOR IT
fulliso...

just delete the "erotic movie" collections... they are like paper... one time use Wink
(if you got one)
Are you crazy, deleting my terrabytes of safemade erotic movies.... Big Grin :p

Of course, space is not that expensive anymore... but I spare everywhere, where I can Wink
Do any programer know, if there is a loss, any contras? (sry, I'm repeating me, but any professional answer has to be there anywhere outside ^^)
Using gcz. YES, I fucking need the space that bad... Only 150 GBs and I don't feel like purchasing another hdd.
