Even an overclocked 2600XT is nowhere near the speed of a 9800gt. Even a 2900XT is easily beaten by an 8800gt/9800gt.

Quote:if you seem to think bottlenecking will happen in PC games with a quad core and a Geforce 460 then you should really really really really do some more research.

No but it will in dolphin, which is what we're talking about. And you should really really really really do a lot more research about dolphin before you assume too much.

i think you need to read his first post. you should really really really read the original post before posting a reply. put it in bold for you. I am not just upgrading for Dolphin but for other games as well.
Sigh...let's just close the thread. The OP got his answer and it looks like this is going to turn into a childish flame-fest soon.
naw i dont flame on forums i have a life and a kid on the way i joined the forums to help people and to find answers to my dolphin linux build issues. not to ONE UP people like some people try to do. have a good day and good luck with your setup AVFC2012.
The GTX 460 1gb will do 1080p with 3x efb scale on most games. Check out this thread to get a slight hint of what you're getting. There are benchmark of the GTX 460 768MB and 1GB version.
