Even the jump between a 260gtx and 470 gtx is very small in dolphin performance compared to the performance difference of the cards in pc games, unlike ati cards that their latest cards in dolphin do fine.

well... the ati cards in the list look to be about where they should be. the 1x and 2x efb scales obviously have more to do with cpu than gpu. but, if you look at the 3x efb scales, the better cards outscore the lower the ones. you can see how the three 4870 systems (spankbot's and skid's) have very similar x3 efb scores, only differing by 2 fps.

i have heard that dolphin is compatible with one gpu only. i thought that cfx setups worked with any game but, after looking at the chart it looks as if i am only getting the performance of one 5770. i looked up some benchmarks and the 4870 card has almost the same dx9 performance as the 5770. seems like my bench shouldve been almost twice that of a single 4870 since i have two 5770s but, i am showing only a performance difference of about 25% there. so, given that cfx doesn't work with dolphin, the ati numbers seem about right to me.

if you look at the numbers, pretty much any card that performs at least as good as a 4870 has playable frame rates (fps > 60) at 3x efb. i use rev 5739 when playing mkwii on my system. when playing with 2 or more players i can often see fps below 60, like around 52 or so but, the vps of my game is running past 100% and I do not get slowdowns. so, i guess that is a gpu issue since the vps is still high and the fps is slow. i just wish all versions of the emulator worked like that where the vps can be at 300% and the fps at 50 and the game speed still at 100% where it should be. it sucks that most other revs slow the vps down too for some reason when the gpu slows down. its like the cpu is bound to the video card, so regardless of how good of a cpu you have, it will slow down in scale with your gpu (in most revisions). i guess maybe mk was the only game that benefited from this so maybe some other games benefited more by changing it, who knows.

i am quite confused... my system is about where it should be when compared to the nvidia cards. however, there are 4000 series ati cards well above mine. seems off to me.

They are only above because of the 1x score, your 2x and 3x scores beats them.

yeah i realized that, lol, and edited my post.
I'm going to 're-bench' too ^^ my MSi hd 6950 Twin Frozr II coming in tomorrow and I'm expecting to take the crown on 3x judging from what I have seen so far. This is just my opinion, but I think my 3.73Ghz E6300 (Core 2 Duo) is comparable to a 3Ghz on the Sandy Bridge with no turbo boost and 3.3Ghz on the first generation of Core i7 with no turbo boost.

At 1x efb scale, it's a battle of raw horsepower, 2x is where the battle really begins, and at 3x, this is an area where it separate the men from the boys!

The results are what they are. Not everything is going to work exactly as you expect it to. I'm more interested in what someone's +4.6 GHZ oced 2500k or 2600k + high end card results would be.

Are you saying that you used an AMD at 4x Ghz for this bench? I didn't see anyone talking crap on this thread yet, so I'm wondering why you said that. Also, when I said build, i meant dolphin revision.
So far I have tested : 1xefb : 260 FPS with a 2600K@4200Mhz , so Skid ... ? WTF ?idk what to think about my result
Asus p8p67pro

sounds yummy =D
Ok so after a few tests :

i7 2600K @ 4.2Ghz / 8Gddr3@1066 /2x5870@stock

1x efb scale 260 fps
[attachment=5328]
2x efb scale 250fps
[attachment=5329]
3x efb scale 199 fps
[attachment=5330]

Sorry fo Quadruple posting , so excited ^^

1x efb + 9XAA scale 199 FPS ^^

3x efb + 9xAA scale 30 FPS !

Ociing 5870 @ 950/5000 (850/4800stock) gives a + 10%boost (33-34 FPS)

Some more coming soon

EDIT : Ociing i7 @ 4.4Ghz didnt change shit !
EDIT 2 : Ocing i7 @ 4.6Ghz gave me a +17 FPS @ 1x efb NO AA, so that s 277 FPS

Yeh, I agree, I think your scores are a little low because of your RAM speed. I have DDR3 1600 RAM. I noticed that my fps went up around 5-10% when I changed it from DDR3 1333 RAM to DDR3 1600 RAM.

About the charts: The only weird score I saw is lamedude's 2x score which is higher than his 1x score. Another interesting chart is to sort the scores by the 2x score instead of the 1x score. You'll see some weird peaks.
i will get some better ram this summer or in the end of the year , i found those 8g for 80 box 1.5V Ripjaws 2 weeks ago , will live with them for a few FPS in benches

and actually they are running @ 1066(which is a shame) , cant go higher without issues , they are initialy 1333 9.9.9.24.2T , but for the price...

and mega lol , they are on the Memory QVL !
I thought I read somewhere on the forums that someone figured out how to get SLI working for dolphin. Is there no possible way of getting Crossfire compatible?
