Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

I think this emulator itself is a no go for Quad core CPU's and DirectX11 high end graphics cards. Some areas on the games drop to 18fps, which is really embarrasing. My PC can play Crysis at 1920X1080 with Ultra Settings and AAX2 with an average of 38fps, so its not my PC that causes lag.


I will say thank you all for a good emulation of the console system. Not every system can be matched to modern gaming PC's. I think its due to the way they construct it from the get-go. Very pleased though it at least works, but I might go back to actual true HD gaming once again (i.e. Call of Duty Black Ops, Medal of Honor 2010, Grid, etc)

All it really needs is fine tuning, just like a FPS game hack (aimbot), just need to tweak it out a bit and it will run like a champ!

What CPU do you have.
Wich game do you run on Dolphi.
How do you get it on PC.

My PC specs:

-AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE (unlocked 4 cores, overclocked at 3.6Ghz)
-Sapphire ATi 5870 Radeon HD
-8GB Corsair Dominator DDr3 @1600Mhz
-2 WD Velociraptors 120GB in Raid 0
-Windows 7 HP 64 bit
-Corsair 750w Modular PSU

Dolphin version is RNS V 6691, 64bit.

So it should run just fine, I dunno why it slows down on games. I have it set to Direct3d9 which should be DirectX9, settings are low, still lag. Maybe there is some stuff to check? I have checked off Enable Dual Core, the one below it, and a few others. That shouldnt be the issue, i guess.

I play Zelda Twilight Princess (gamecube version), Resident Evil 2 GC remake, and Metroid Prime.

You better turn them on cause they speed up !

Yeah, no doubt about the performance grabber , Black Ops for PC only uses 55% of my CPU, lol.

Thanks Anti-Ultimate, ill give it a shot. I also have set for the DEP, only 32 KHz instead of 44.8Khz and also turned off Audio Throttle as well.
