Dolphin R 6692 x64
My Hardware:
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8 GHz
8GB DDR3 PC3-10700H (667 MHz)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1GB GDDR5
Nvidia Drivers 260.99
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Nothings Overclocked, all at factory settings.
Problem:
I'm trying to play Mario Galaxy (And Zelda TP) but my computer can't seem to keep up with the game. It runs at about 30-40FPS. Is it my system specs or is it my Dolphin settings?
I attached both the settings from Dolphin in png format and cpu-z txt dump of hardware specs.
didnt check your settings but i hear 2.8ghz isntenough to play games with the fps you want because i also have acpu that is 2.8ghz and i only get 40-45 fps in dolphin settings playing mario galaxy
Try using the dx 9 plugin.
I changed it to DX9 and it was running between 20-30FPS.
My CPU has a feature called turbo core that should jack the speed up to 3.3GHz but I'm having trouble accessing it.
Well 30 fps is fullspeed for twilight princess. And nothing short of a heavily overclocked i7 can run super mario galaxy 1/2 at fullspeed all the time since it's such a cpu heavy game. Right click TP in the main dolphin window and click game properties, make sure "ZTP hack" is checked. If that option isn't there use a newer revision. I recommend 6331 for those two games. As for mario galaxy, the only thing you can do to speed that up is overclock.
TP is actually running pretty fast. I set the FPS to 60 on it and it zoomed. Granted I had to jack the framerate up other wise the mouse responded slowly. Now my problem with TP is that the saved game keeps corrupting when I restart the game.
I'll look into OCing the system.
Try using revision 6331. Also keep in mind that if "use fps for limiting" is off the framelimiter controls max vps instead of max fps. Also audio throttle has to be off for the framelimiter to work properly. Fullspeed for tp is 30 fps 60 vps (assuming it's ntsc not pal). Fullspeed for super mario galaxy is 60 fps 120 vps.
will this run
AMD Phenom II X4 B45 at 3.00 GHz
4GB DDR2
ATI Radeon HD 3300 onboard graphics.
Windows 7 Ultimate x32
Yes but I would strongly advise you buy a video card. Your speed will improve dramatically if you do.
How would I get a copy of 6331?
I'm mainly trying to emulate my games so I can put my Wii away. Mainly because an HDTV has a .2 second lapse between mote movements and response and that's on component.
