They aren't the same games. By your logic, why did you buy SC2 when you can just play SC:BW?

I bought SC2 because i am a die hard Starcraft fan and i have been playing SC:BW for ages, i wanted something new, and i got a great campaign with better graphics. I understand if you do not like it but i do, and so does alot of other people Smile

and its not.
World wide sales show that it is popular. "Good"-ness is subjective.

Popularity is usually because something is good.. how can you justify that millions of millions of people play a game for years if it's not a good game? Diablo 3 will crush every videogame sales record, just wait and see.

As for WoW, i enjoy that game, it's graphics engine is starting to become old though but it still gives value for it's money(if you like that sort of thing) I am currently in a guild raiding endgame cataclysm content, and it is much better than WOTLK imho. Fact of the matter is WoW is the best MMORPG out there, at this point. I don't care what anyone says, let the numbers speak for themselves;

12 million subscribers as of October 2010,[11] World of Warcraft is currently the world's most-subscribed MMORPG,[9][12][13] and holds the Guinness World Record for the most popular MMORPG by subscribers.[14][15][16][17] In April 2008, World of Warcraft was estimated to hold 62 percent of the MMORPG subscription market.[18]

OT: I'm looking forward to it. I loved the first two of the series, and I feel that with Blizzards experience with WoW they know what the majority of people want from an RPG.

its going to be a disappointment to all of us who played diablo 1.
Jeez, stop referencing other Blizzard's titles, they have nothing to do with Diablo universe, just like SC has nothing to do with WoW and e.t.c.
Each game is being developed by a different team and they have almost no relation to each other.

Anyhow, by the info (and there's a lot of it on the net) about Diablo 3, I'm quite sure it's gonna be the new ARPG benchmark, for a long time.

Let's hope that really is the truth..

Diablo is not meant to be a tame "family" game for all ages. Play the original version and try it for yourself. You can make a dark and gritty, gory game without making it cheesy or ridiculous.
I especially liked the storylines they gave to the town characters, they were really thought out (even the town drunk).

What's left of the game if it becomes another grindfest, character classes from other games, with happy light blue and purple colors like Warcraft?

Because I love the series I hope it doesn't turn out that way, even though most of the original team is no longer developing the game
What is Diablo ?
A new Product from Apple ?

It's not gonna be like that, Blizzard is focusing on the end-game so much now. Also there will be no ridiculous level cap (99 in Diablo 2: LoD), it will be 60 at the start, and from what I gather, it won't take ages to get there. And from what I gather, they're still sticking with the dark and gory theme (which is what Diablo universe is all about).

You should really read up some info at DiabloFans, they have very much info on Diablo 3 development.

Anyhow, it's almost 99% that Diablo 3 will come out no later than this year's summer. Hooray! Guess I'm gonna pre-order in the incoming weeks.
