My take on the world ending in 2012 (possible NSFW) Keth : hey ard what're u doing? Ard : the king said i should design something called a calendar, its important, he says it supposed to tell what day it is, im on 21st dec 2012, king says to continue till the day i die. Keth : wanna go get some booze? Ard : sure thing dude, i'll continue when i get back. *after the booze* ard : hey where my calendar? Keth : dude u still wanna work, u're completely smashed. Ard : alright, its not like me not completing it will cause some kind of global phenomenon in future *both laugh* i'll continue after i rest for a while. *mayans get wiped out* modern archeologist : look at this calendar, look at the last date, could this be the day the world ends? Archeologist boss : that sounds smart enough, put it in the report, remember if we dont put something in the report that will make people go 'ooh and ahh' we wont get PAID.

Something "important" might happen : big cataclysm, a new world war, extra-terrestrial invasion, etc but I don't think it will be the end of the world. Let's wait and see
From what I seen from several documentaries on the History HD channel we're going into a new time era or something after that date.
The end of the world would be a little bit drastic but it could be related to a new way of thinking or something....I don't know but it's fun to speculate.
