Foreword: when buying from dealextreme you might have long shipping time!

I baught the even cheaper dealextreme wiimote and nunchuck and it works fine and I can not find ANY difference to the original (even nintendo branded *cough*). I still cant guarantee that you will get same quality since i am sure they just ship whatever they have in stock and looks similar =)

I also have a same looking BT thingy from dealextreme which works fine. There is a list of compatible blutooth adapters if you want to be sure to get a working one.

advice: think of buying a wired bar (also dealextreme ^^). Cause: you can attach the usb plug at the end of the original wire and have a nice looking wire exit on the bar. else you will mess around with the way thicker usb cable. Just cut off any plug from a broken mouse or whatever.

Check this link to get a ordered by price list of dealextremes wii stuff.

Yeah I figure that the remote and nunchuck will be shipped from china but for the price i'm not worried about it. The usb bluetooth adapter is the one that is listed on the dolphin support page so it should work fine. I got the wireless infrared sensor because i'm 100% sure that it takes 5v to power it (4 AAA batteries) which is the same voltage that usb produces and will make for simple wiring.
Doesn't the wiimote also have tilt sensors?

I guess so, there'd be no way to use the Wiimote as a wheel otherwise...
You dont need a infrared sensor, as the Wii Remote already has one. The sensor bar contains 2 infrared lights, and the cable (when using wired sensor bar) is for power only, so the sensor bar can be easily replaced by to candles, one next to the other. Also, there is not just a few games that use the infrared light, all games with pointer does..

The controllers haven't arrived yet, I just ordered them 3 days ago. From the reviews I read about them they are identical to original wii controllers. I will let you know more when they get here.
Update: The usb bluetooth adapter arrived last week and it's absolute junk. Win 7 64bit recognized the adapter right out of the package without any driver installation. It worked great for about 35 minutes under win 7 64bit then it failed saying "USB device not recognized". I tried everything under the sun to get it working again including installing bluesoleil and widcomm. It is a definite hardware failure. Do not waste your money on this adapter.

I ended up going to walmart and buying an IOgear adapter (GBU421) for around $12 and it works perfect. I did not have to install any drivers to use the device with win 7 64bit. Spend a little more money and go with the IOgear, it's well worth it!

The infrared bar arrived also. Instead of wiring it for usb usage I found an old motorola cellphone charger around the house and wired the infrared bar to plug into the wall. The charger is a motorola SPN5185A 5v dc 550ma. It works perfect and is more portable than the usb connection would be. Disclaimer: If you do not have a voltmeter and do not have experience with wiring do not attempt to do this as it could result in personal injury or fire. See pictures below..

The controllers have not arrived yet and I am using a borrowed set right now. When they get here I will update the thread again.

Oh. for a second i hoped these two sentence were related =)

anyways, looks good what you did there.
hi, i almost bought the same package:
bluetooth (i guess, its the same): http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11866
same sensorbar: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26893
and wiimote: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.30494
conclusion: although i had the same message (not recognized) sometimes with the dongle, its working very well! the only problem is that i can't connect 2 wiimotes at the same time. haven't tried more than the microsoft stack, but i've read later that this dongle has problems handling more than one wiimote (esp those from china...). maybe i'll buy another one, dealextreme would be preferred, but i don't know which one. i've heard a lot about bluesoleil. good as well as bad...
my system: win7 x64 with latest rev of dolphin.

ps: i did the same mod with the sensor bar with an old usb-cable. works very good and its done less than 15 min i would say Wink
