GameCube should be playable even on a single core CPU as its hardware is not that demanding.

Riiiiiiight. When you get an HLE emulator to run on hardware that's only 3-4 times as powerful as the native you can say that. But as of now no one in the history of computer science has even come close to achieving something like that. Some games that are not very taxing to the native hardware might be playable but 99.99% will not be.

The wii is just a smaller GC with some additional input hardware/software and slightly higher clock rates.

hi, i'm new here and just ask myself if it could be possible to have an amd optimized version ?
i have an athlon II x2 3.3ghz on winxp 32.
Perhaps you could make a version optimized for amd with sse4a ??

Sorry but most compilers don't support sse4a.

You can run sse3 builds as long as they are compiled with the "use intel only code" option turned off. However you're unlikely to get any significant performance improvement from them.
