I know that the ATI Radeon HD 4250 isn't a great video chip, but it's what is built into my motherboard (ASUS M4A88TD-V USB3 880G ).

At 640 x 480 resolution it's fine for playing Wii games, but naturally I'd like to increase the resolution - doing so means that some games start to struggle at some points.

So, short of buying a new video card, is there anything that I can do to increase the performance of my 4250 or even Dolphin itself (yes, I've tried the documented 'tweaks' for Dolphin to speed up the graphics - they help, but not much).

I know that the 4250 uses shared RAM, but I guess that increasing its allocation wouldn't help?
There are a few things you could do to help out that chip:

1) Us the DX9 video plugin
2) Set EFB Scale to 1x, not to Fractional or other settings
3) Enable EFB Copy to Texture, not Ram
4) Turn off Anti-Aliasing
5) Turn Frame Limit to off

Some or all of these settings will give you some added performance/speed.
Much appreciate the advice, thanks. Smile
