For my part I did some research and found this:

What do you think about it? (If you do not understand French translate the page with altavista Wink)

I don't need a translation for that Wink
Yes, it's very similar to my Notebook, less RAM (I have 8GB) but a far more powerful graphics card.
I can run many (Dolphin) games in Full HD with about 40-60 FPS.
As long as you're not trying to run monsters like Monster Hunter Tri, you should get pretty good speed with that PC. About the same FPS-rate as me. If you're an enthusiast gamer, who absolutely needs his 60FPS minimum, then you should probably aim for something bigger (and more expensive), maybe Alienware...
and how many fps do you get in SMG ?
Not that good? Well that's strange. I get constant 60 fps all the time. My GPU isn't that good, but I have this exact CPU from the topic's title.
You talk about the AMD 965 or The i7 740QM (the laptop) ? Because if it's the laptop that's very cool I will buy it immediately ^^
I think that creat a new topic is a best idea
I understand that the i3 and i7 in doplhin are similar, there is no performance gain between the i-series processors, so have an i3 overclocked to 3.6GHz is like an i7 at 3.6GHz right ? and thank you
There is a performance gain
Very small but yes their is a difference. More cores (small speedup from background tasks running on separate cores), more cache, and slightly higher memory bandwidth (small speedup with efb to ram). Considering an i7 is only slightly faster clock per clock it's better just to get an i3/i5 and save lots of money.
Last time I read or check, AMD CPUs need a couple hundred MHz more to match Intel CPUs in terms of benchmark testing or performance wise. For example, 3.6Ghz (AMD) is about equal to Intel 3.4Ghz or 3.3Ghz speed.
and it's worth buying an i3 which is only dual core instead of an AMD Phenom X4 955 which is a quad core just for dolphin ?
