Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

Hi all !

I'm new in this forum and I have a question please :

I will buy a new pc and (of curse ^^) want to play with dolphin.
So there is the specs :

-AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 Ghz
-Radeon HD6850 1Go GDDR5
-4GB RAM DDR3
-500 GB HD

but now I hesitate a little because I don't know if I'll play with it properly with dolphin and especially for SMG . So can I play correctly dolphin with this processor? or I should change it to another? if so tell me please while I still have not bought the pc.

I have that and in smg i get pretty good speed (55-60fps) in most places but in big galaxies in some spots it drops down to 45ish. all other games i have (mkw, loztp, nsmbw, kirbys epic yarn) play fullspeed always.
however, you can oc it to 3.6 ghz on the stock cooler without much effort and if you get a good aftermarket cooler then you can hit over 4ghz.

I am relieved because I had doubts about this processor. But I don't t know much about overclocking so I don't want to overclock as I know nothing ^ ^ '
But to hear you it looks easy so I'll maybe look into the matter later but not now. So I just want to know if the processor itself without overclock can run properly without lags dolphin.

Not bad but i stay with the i7 930 !

There are people much suckier rigs running games at playable frames per second. Idk about Smg but for most games that Processor will do just nicely without the need of an OC (which btw is not a very hard task at all 0_0)
Edit: I get 40fps in smg2 if that means anything to you

You say that it's good without OC but best with it. So if I overclock it to ..well.. 3.6Ghz or even 3.8 Ghz if I can, It will be able to run games like SMG and also SMG 2 at full speed ?

If you want to buy that make sure to buy the black edition, as it has an open multiplier so you can overclock it!
