but anyways it seems that i need at least a 500watt PSU for a good gaming rig ( i plan on getting a Phenom quad-core and OC it at ~3.8 / 4ghz with an ocz cooler)

Yes. That's a fact. A good 80+ Rated Power Supply is a must for gamer. If you plan for OC, I will recommend 600 W.
