Don't bother downloading SSE3 dolphin for AMD cpus
because they use Intel compiler and it doesn't give a shit if you have or not more set instructions than SSE2 (SSE3+)
It sucks ¬¬
@EDIT see post #17
so basically sse3=sse2 for amd?
Builds can be optimized for AMD cpu's just fine by using ICC, although the benefit is unknown compared to SSSE3, SSE4 optimizations, but some have claimed they run faster than the unoptimized builds. Mamario's builds aren't even optimized at all, nor do they include any useful patches or any patches at all so I don't know why they are being suggested since the op is inquiring about SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4 optimized builds.
@The op, not all builds are optimized for SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4, the are only a couple members (myself and Lectrode) that currently offer optimized builds. The optimized builds have a slight performance increase over the unoptimized builds, I saw at least a 10 FPS - 15 FPS increase in NSMB with Copy EFB to Ram with an SSE4.1 optimized build.
I have actully found a big difference between Lectrode , Xtreme2dmax and Mamario's builds
On my system Mamario's builds every game i try is like playing a slide show (really Slow)
With Lectrode and Xtreme's builds where between 25 to 30 FPS and i have also noticed a 10 to 15 FPS raise between sse2 and sse3 so for me i do get a good increase with the sse3 builds

Riiiight. Keep believing that article. I remember when the original phenom cpus came out all the amd fanboys were screaming about how the only reason they weren't performing up to par was because everything was compiled with ICC which was descriminating against them. Meanwhile people like me were trying to tell them that it was simply because their registers and decoders were not properly set up for the new instructions and that wasn't ICCs fault. Meanwhile the amd crowd was calling us "brainwashed" or whatever until phenom II came out and fixed the problems they had with sse3....then all of the sudden the amd crowd was willing to admit we were right once they had fixed what was and had always been A HARDWARE ISSUE.
Not to mention if ICC really did discriminate against AMD then you would see better results with compilers like GCC (an opensource C++ compiler) that don't check the cpu ID. Yet they don't give any better results than ICC....
Well yes maybe I'm wrong I did sound like a fanboy lol srry.
You can believe it or not but at least I see not performance increase between compilers.
I can understand that. AMD cpus still aren't set up to handle sse3 instructions as well as intel cpus. Which is understandable seeing as how intel comes up with all of the new sse instructions in the first place. Can you think of how different this would be if AMDs 3Dnow! has won instead of sse?
Be thankful you don't have an original phenom cpu though. Those things had god awful sse3 performance compared to phenom II.
I sometimes see a difference between sse, sse3, and ssse3 with certain revisions but it's extremely small if any.
