I'm very excited, I just fixed the rendering issues!! Well... this it's worked for me anyway, don't know that it will work for other people because I really don't know what I'm doing.. I was just screwing around with the custom projection hack settings on a somewhat trial and error basis.
zNear correction: no value (leave blank)
do not tick the "(-)+zNear" box
zFar correction: 1.99998
tick the "(-)+zFar" box
Yes, nicely done. I'll commit those projection settings to the svn.

how did you do come across that and not know what you are doing? you should play with projection hacks and rogue leader 2...

I assumed z stands for z axis, so there are only two settings (correct me please) one for each end of the z axis: near and far.
When I played around with the near setting the text and things in the foreground would disappear and since I saw no problem with things in the foreground I decided to leave it blank then just systematically changed the far setting and launched the game until something worked..
Sure I'll check out that game next week for funsies but yeah it was more ass than class with skies of arcadia lol.. will be surprised if I can do it twice
positive Z far numbers make the text in RS disappear.
What exactly did you fix? Because I don't see any difference in comparison to the standard Skies of Arcadia projection hack...

I meant in comparison with the old standard SKies of Arcadia projection hack...
To all fans of this great JRPG out there:
This game runs at full speed with my PC! Just make sure that you check DSP LLE on thread, this gives a great speed up.
I only got some Slowdowns in the intro cinematic with 23fps at the lowest point but exploration and fightings runs at full speed 25fps (Pal version). I guess with some improvments in overall emulation speed or a 2nd Gen Intel Core with clock rates nearer to 5GHz than my cpu you should get full speed even in all cutscenes.
So dont give up hope to play this great game with working sound once again without undusting your gamecube or dreamcast.
