This game runs at 100% speed most of the time, but occasionally it suddenly slows down. Now, if it was slower all the time I'd know it's my PC, but since it plays perfectly most of the time... what's causing the slowdowns? And how to fix it?
P.s. I'm using r4838 with Tales of Grace patch (the other version doesn't pick up my controllers. Though the mentioned version only picks up controller #2 (I know #1 works, as I use it for a PS2 emulator), and only when analog is on).
Oh, and also, after a while the sound always messes up incredibly with DSound, and sometimes (but still incredibly) with OpenAL. Is there a way to fix this? Changing options in the sound plugin didn't fix this.

those slowdowns are probably due to the new fifo that is somewhat buggy, you will need to use older revision in order to not get that stuttering
Yeah, found a version that works perfectly including picking up my controller (well, with D3D which didn't work on R4838 (TONS and TONS of errors with panic handlers on, then crashes), never tried OpenGL on this version because it couldn't possibly be better: with D3D no sound errors, full speed all the time, same graphics as OpenGL...): R4716 (also Tales of Grace patch).

The game gets stuck on a black screen when I try to play story mode.
It also gets stuck on a save screen when I try to save a deck.

If you like Yu-Gi-Oh, you'll definitely like it. Especially if you don't have a PSP and thus can't play the Tag Force games (except 1 which has a PS2 port, for which there is an emulator), as it's kinda like those (better than 1, of course). The dueling, not the story (the story sucks. It starts OK, but once you get dropped down, you'll quickly get sick of the Transcenders. And once you finish the game, you get a whopping 20 floors of nothing but Transcenders, Transcenders and more Transcenders...). If you don't like Yu-Gi-Oh, then you shouldn't try it of course

New(er) revisions don't work with this game. You could've read this in the first post including recommendations for which version to use, but I have another recommendation: R4716 (also Tales of Grace patch) (also called R4716M). Forgot where I downloaded it from, though.

so i guess im more from the old school, last yu gi oh game i played was kaiba the revenge for pc lol
You could compare the graphics to Kaiba the Revenge: about the same, only better. However, you're going to have some trouble with all the new cards.
Anyone has some progress info about this one?
I have tried both Emus from the first post plus latest one and game still does not work.
