Sorry, but you are dead wrong. Kinect is not "just another Eyetoy", it actually works quite well this time.

Seriously, you think Microsoft would have thrown so much money at it if they could achieve the same thing with JUST a webcam?

Yes a lot of what Kinect does can be mimicked with a webcam alone, but only in perfect lighting conditions in a perfect room. I certainly cannot imagine Dance Central working with only a camera as it actually senses that you are pulling off the moves at the right angles, if you are supposed to put your foot forward and don't, it knows. You can't do that with a camera alone.

I have to disagree here too. I find the Wiimote to be excellent for aiming, its far more fun and precise than using a joystick. I can comfortably browse the web on the Wii, but its a real PITA on the PS3, purely due to the control difference.

As for Kinect, actually the problem it has is not that you have to be too close to the TV but that you CAN'T BE closer than 6ft or it doesn't work. Five seconds of research would you told you that.

Because its a new innovate way to interact with the PC?

I agree that some people are making too big a deal out of it, its most practical for use in games and is no substitute for a Wiimote when playing bowling etc. However dismissing it as junk just makes you seem very narrow minded.

One thing we can agree on though, Kinect has no relevance to Dolphin at all. Its only useful in software that is actually optimised for it.

Even with the Wii, I try to disable the Wiimote pointer, if possible, when playing games. It is rather clumsy, laggy, and not all that accurate. Id rather use my analog stick to aim my slingshot than the Wiimote any day. The cost is ridiculous, though. It's not about the money itself, it's the principle.

I feel stupid paying 150 bucks for an add-on when the old white console itself can be had for $149 without HDD. You could almost buy a second wii for the price of a kinect.

A more reasonable price would be ~35 to 50 bucks at most.
I always buy the Nintendo console, so in 2-3 years I'll surely be getting some kind of new motion tech so... not even gonna consider getting those of Sony/MSTongue
i think kinect is more suitable for HDTC, all those flashy 3d tracking, blah blah to control your PC, but wait, isn't wii remote can do it too :O

IMO, Dolphin should be able to emulate all wii games 100% before attempting to implement as useless as this. And we all know that is unlikely in at least 2 years or so.
This has nothing to do with dolphin. Yes it may work with dolphin, however this isn't a question. You already know it's possible. Use it yourself.

Kinemote 0.3 just realsed support for binding ur own keys to the kinect for pc use.
So i guess dolphin would work with kinect now.
I will try this towmorrow.
Now sleep.
Asus will release another Kinect which 100% support PC games
