I can also vouch for the "it's probably a collision issue" theory because I've been able to use the pink wisp if I keep jumping around like crazy and not letting the spikes actually "grind" into the walls/ground.

yeah, same here, but for some reason i was lucky enough to reach the goal ring in act 1 using pink spikes.

Sorry, I figured you'd assume 720p because that's what you asked for -- but like I said it doesn't really seem to matter what resolution I set it to, it pretty much runs the same speed. Also, if it is the CPU that's holding me back, I'm just running at stock speed(lame I know) so you might actually be able to do better Tongue.

I'd like to add that although I wasn't able to use the spikes(without jumping around like crazy, anyway) in Planet Wisp Act 1, I was able to use it in Starlight Carnival(whichever act it was where almost all of the red rings required pink wisp to get). Also, the last act of Starlight Carnival that some people were getting the black screen on also blackscreened on me, but for some reason using the hover wisp / green wisp I was able to do it. That sort of got me thinking that the game may "expect" you to be in some form when you're in certain areas, though I can't see how that would make sense from a technical perspective, so I'm not really sure on that.
black screen, black screen... someone no fix this???

I need full red rings for supersonic!!!!

I just used the Gecko Codes for that.

I'm getting stuttering audio (I think it's just the music) on build r6515. My speed seems to be about %80 after the intros.

GFX seem great, getting high FPS with max anti-aliasing, 1920x1080 and so on.

I have noticed that when I turned off the audio, I started to get black screens at the start. In fact when I turn it off while the movie was playing it froze, then resumed when I turned it back on again so people with issues at the start might want to look at the audio plugin. Also I tried the DSP-LLE but it wouldn't even show the wiimote warning screens.

I'm on Linux x86_64 (Ubuntu 10.10).
OpenGL
nvidia GeForce 260GTX
Intel i7 920
6gb Ram

I'm having some mild gameplay speed problems, too. And the god forsaken black out in Tropical Island Act 3, right by the middle of the stage.

My PC goes by...

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5GHz
Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT
4gb Ram DDR 2
CPU is definitely a limiting factor in this game, I did a few tests....

Put my i7 860 at stock (2.8Ghz, got an average of about 25 FPS. At 3.6Ghz I get 30-35FPS (full speed). At 4.2Ghz I get 35-45FPS (above full speed)

Underclocking my HD 4850 to 500 core 500 mem did not affect the framrate what so ever in all the tests, also overclocking it to 750/1100 did not increase frames either.... so it's clear that this game is very CPU limited.
Yeah, a Phenom II x4 955 OC at 3,6 ghz give me around 20-24 fps (depend on stage, zone, etc) .
My graphic card is a GTX 460 and is barely doing nothing (even with AA).
So yeah seems like you need a heavy OCed CPU
Has anyone figured out how to make the game use the Wiimote instead of a gamecube controller yet?
Black screen issue seems to be a core issue, doesn't matter what plugin I use it still happens. I don't even think switching to JITIL will help.
