Like I said, read over the thread, plenty of configs have been brought up.
Here's some stuff I forgot to mention, if you're using a EU iso, you need to enable a Wii option "EuRGB60 (Pal60), that will fix the darkened graphics.
You should enabled EFB copy to texture for the best speed.

ok well thx
I get an average of 75% speed in game at 50-60 fps with the OpenGL Plugin. Load Native Mipmaps and EFB Scaled Copy ON. EFB Scale Fractional. Enable CPU Access ON. Copy Enabled to Texture. XFB Enabled Virtual.
The game is completely playable except when playing certain stages for for the first time and using the dreaded PINK WISP you get the black screen of death. This is caused by one or both of two things: Using an Nvidia card or a cache issue. Some people have said that on ATI cards these issues don't appear most likely because the WII uses an ATI "Hollywood" GPU. The other could be a cache problem. I notice in one op the Asteroid Coaster levels that going into some areas for the first time would cause a BSOD but going back to them a second time would not cause a black screen.
My Specs:
Intel Core i7 930 factory clocked
6 GB DDR3 Memory
Dual Nvidia GTX 460's
Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
Zune, you should try using the Direct3D9 plugin or Direct3D11 plugin instead, that may give you a much needed speed increase.
(If you don't see them in your config, update your DirectX)
I get the same black screen issue on my ATI HD4850, it actually appears to be a core issue because what actually happens is Sonic's location is transported somewhere offscreen.

hmm.... maybe i do get that bug..... but i restart or exit the stage as soon as the black screen appears, so maybe i don't see it.
DirectX11 gave me the same preformance as OGL on earlier revisions but now OGL seems ro work better.
Dolphin SVN r6485 fixes the lines around sonic's shadow and game me a speed boost.
I noticed that you seem to get much better performance by disabling Idle Skipping, and enabled Virtual XFB.
I'm getting like 50FPS on the title screen rather than 40.
Holy crap dude thanks! Turning off Idle Skipping on r6497 not only game a huge speed up (I'm talking 85% speed 55-60 fps average) It fixed the Black Screed Glitch!
btw for some reason when I tried to got to the last page to reply to RupeeClock's I was logged out. It really sux that the site is closing, I just joined.
I still got the Black screen bug. Did you try getting a the Spike Wisp?
Yeah, I still got a black screen after turning off idle skipping.
