Gonna make a system with these specs.
(Sorry couldn't wait for Sandy Bridge)

Intel i7 920 (or 930)
Geforce GTX 580
6 GB RAM (Corsair)
Corsair H50 (to overclock)
1TB Harddrive (still don't know which facturer)
Corsair 750 Watt PSU
Blu-Ray Burner (still don't know whichTongue)

Stuff that I already ordered Big Grin:

Corsair 800D Case
Asus P6T Deluxe v2

So any recommendations ?
I want to use this machine to run Dolphin and to play some PC Games.
EDIT: And of course Win7.
The whole system costs ~1,600$
Those are some very good parts. I would recommend this over the H50 though: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018

Also try to get ddr3 1600 ram instead of 1333.

As for HDD brand. Either western digital or seagate. I personally prefer western digital.

That case is way over the top. This is an amazing case for half that price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

Would recommend this motherboard over the P6T Deluxe v2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131665

As for the blu-ray burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136181

Regardless of whether you take my advice or not the parts you have chosen are already great. What about audio though?

Yes, that's a great suggestion.
In fact I use it atm, idle temps on a i7 950 are around 22-23c (just above ambient), load at under 40c.. Almost zero difference to liquid cooling, no risk of leakage etc..

You could also get a ssd (with sandforce controller) like ocz vertex 2 if you really want a super-fast rig.. Will cut loading times in games and boot time by a lot
I chose the Corsair 800D for the great cable managment !
Hm O.K I'm going for the Noctua NH-DH14.
I already wanted to get 1600 RAM but i heard there are some problems with the P6T Deluxe v2 Board. (BIOS update will help (I hope))
So for an SSD i don't have anymore Money but anyways i don't need one.

BTW Theres is onboard audio.
I really don't need more.

EDIT: Just asked my Dad and he said: "I can't get money outta my ass." Just some $ more and he would explode.
So i believe i stay with the Corsair H50.

EDIT 2: Found a shop where there is some stuff cheaper.
When i save some money i will buy the Noctua NH-DH14 (Perhaps)
In the shade of this thread, I want to ask a question here, probably on buying stuff. I am in a kind of dilemma. So, here's my story.

As being a poor boy Tongue I don't have enough cash to buy a decent rig with Core i5 or something. So, I settled with second hand things. Firstly, I want a MoBo, as my current MoBo has only two RAM slots. I want to have two more sticks of 1GB Corsair DDR2 800 MHz CL4 RAM, that's very special RAM. Pair of sticks will cost me INR 3000 and MSI P43T-C51 MoBo is costing me INR 3800 and my current MoBo is going for INR 1500 (min)

And I also want to upgrade my 15" CRT (1280*1024) with 20" LCD (1600*900).

So , my question is, as I am currently only capable of buying any one of those, so which one should I buy? That Limited Edition RAM (not available here at any cost) or a Monitor, which can I buy second hand?

Please help
is that really that expensive in your country ?
Get a i7 950 , at this point in time its the best option , knowing that new CPUs are coming real soon , so if you cant wait (and you already bought a 1366 Motherboard ) get a 950 . Later you can buy a second 580 , you wont have to change again all your system (bottleneck will be present but not that huge )

1Terra Samsung Spinpoint F3 will be your best choice for a HDD and if you can grab an intel SSD(second generation ,new ones are coming so prices from the last generation are dropping but perf are the same ^^...almost) , that would be sweet

where do you live
Kota, Rajasthan, India, Asia, World Big Grin

Electronics are pretty expensive. If the rates were as per US, I would have ended with Core i5 or even i7....
